Testimonials:
We were in St Maarten for a week and this was by far our favorite restaurant. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great (our seats overlooked the boats in the dock) and the staff was very friendly. We had the grilled red snapper by recommendation of our waitress which was one of the best fish meals we've ever had, and the crab stuffed shrimp, also delicious. It was great food, and we met the chef afterwards. He was great to talk to and truly passionate about the food. A great experience all around. By Charlie311 on Trip Advisor.
Saratoga Resataurant at the Simpson Bay Yacht Club has an elegant atmosphere, lovely and beautifully presented food and gracious service. We went early (6:30) and is was very quiet; we were one of 2 couples there. I had the grilled red snapper with Caribbean black beans and "funchi", and my husband had the fried whole sea bass. Both dishes had a spectacular presentation, and were cooked to perfection. Red snapper is a difficult fish to cook properly, and the staff at Saratoga are obviously masters at their craft. The chef was trained at the Culinary Institute of America, and it shows. The wine list is extensive and there is plenty to choose from by the half or full bottle. The total bill, for one app, two main courses, one dessert, one bottle of wine and tip, was $128, which we thought was very reasonable. Highly recommended, and I most certainly would go back. This was a wonderful way to end our trip in St. Maarten. You can't tell from the street side, how lovely it is inside, on the marina and a lovely covered outdoor eating area. I wisely took our server's suggestion to get the snapper, even though I rarely order snapper, and it was delicious. The sides of a black bean relish and cornmeal fried plantains were great too. Great food. This is the only restaurant we went to that I would recommend to friends. By jodyharris on Trip Advisor.
We enjoyed a lovely dining experience at Saratoga and will add it to our list of regular spots to visit when on the island. The menu was varied and interesting with all of our dinners exceeding our expectations. Also of note was the quality and engaging nature of all the staff. The owner/chef greeted us on departure to insure our full satisfaction. We look forward to a return visit. By Nealtravels on Trip Advisor.
